ALL ACT PREP COURSES ARE THE SAME!
Yes, the truth is that regardless if they cost $1500 or $60, they are all very similar. They teach some basic strategy, they reinforce some skills, and they provide some basic education... Sure, some may have you working with a tutor, some may have you simply reading a book, and others may have you taking practice test after practice test. But, in the end, I have found they all produce a very similar result.

Almost ZERO Improvement in ACT Score
I have seen this first hand, but you don't have to take my word for it. You can read this report from the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). In the report you will see that a student's average improvement from an ACT test prep is LESS THAN ONE POINT!
As a teacher and a mother, this was just unacceptable to me. To see all these students investing their time (and their parents investing their money) into something that had almost NO BENEFIT really made me angry! Especially when I saw the outrageous claims being made by many of the ACT prep peddlers.

The list of claims can go on and on... It is really outrageous! These ACT test prep companies are making claims they cannot back up. I have been a witness to this for 30+ years. But, do you know what the really interesting thing is?

The Information Taught in the ACT Test Prep Courses is in Fact Good
This was mind boggling to me. The information in these ACT courses was good, the ACT tutors were well informed and educated, and even the books contained (the same) good information. Yes, all the courses were the same... But they were all good. So why didn't they have any effect? Why didn't they improve ACT scores? Why didn't the ACT prep work!?
I was determined to find out. And, as I would later discover, the answer was shockingly simple.
I decided to learn everything I could about the students who did stand-out when it came to ACT performance. The students who, regardless of test prep, regardless of GPA, regardless of academic interest, did exceedingly well on their ACT... I couldn't believe what I was quickly uncovering. I was stunned!

What they ATE in the days before (and the morning of) the test had more to do with their success than if they spent an extra five hours in their ACT test prep guide!
Of course I knew it was important to eat healthy to keep your mind sharp. But I honestly had no clue that it could have such a dramatic impact... And, it doesn't end there! It became very clear that EVERYTHING played a role in ACT success. Not just good studying and healthy eating. Even a student's clothing and morning shower play an important role!! I was absolutely amazed at both how obvious it was (when studied), and how much impact it had on ACT score.

One Year Vs Two Year MBA - Why I went in for the 1 year Option
I had this daunting question to face after I got a 780 score in the GMAT. I knew that I could apply to
pretty much any college, but after 5 year’s work ex, I was really doubtful about the two year full time
courses.
The problem was that most of the top five colleges had only a two year course to offer (At least till a few
years back).
I did some intensive reasearch, spoke to friends and colleagues and decided that a one year course
would be best for me.
Applied to INSEAD and got an offer.
In hindsight, I think you should look at the following considerations before you decide on a two year Vs
One year MBA programme.
1. Opportunity cost
A two year programme implies that you will NOT earn anything for two years, thereby you opportunity
cost is double that of a one year programme.
2. Job Prospects
Seem to be quite independent of whether the course you do is a one year or a two year course. Provided
of couse that the colleage is within the top 10 worldwide.
3. Work Ex
It is generally recommended to look at a one year course if you already have 4+ years of work ex. In my
case for example, I had a work ex of about five years, so a one year course was a natural choice.
4. Market movements
If you look at the new programmes/colleges that are coming up around the world, you will notice that
almost invariably, they are all One year or shorter programmes.
Probably the only reason that the Harvards and Whartons have not started their own one year
programme is that it would severely cannibalize their existing two year programme.
5. Specialization
If you have seen it all and are now sure that you want to become a Marketing Wizard or a Finance
expert, then you could look at short one year couses in these areas rather than doing a generic MBA

I think most of the books available In the market today do not offer you enough
‘Tough’ problems In Quant, the kind you need to score In the high nineties.
Also, the GRE has more emphasis on Probability, a topic that most of the
standard books tend to ignore.
I focused on being familiar with the math tables, various formulae, especially in Geometry
& Mensuration and doing as many section tests as I could get hold of.

GRE Verbal- Reading Comprehension
If you find RC as your weak area, I would recommend reading ‘How to Read
Faster and Better’ by Norman Lewis. (This is available at Amazon.com)
The Reading Comprehension passages in the GRE are mostly on different
topics like Science, History, Arts, Society etc. Depending on you background
and interests, you will find at least 1 or 2 very easy.
It makes sense to get familiar with other topic that you do not normally come
across in your course work or recreational reading.
The strategy I used was to read the passage quickly to get a rough idea of what
the topic was about, and then to read bits required to answer each question
again.
You are likely to find at least one question about the ‘Central Idea’ of the
passage, so the first quick read helps here.
For the other questions, you are likely to know which bit of the passage to read

The dreaded Word List
I focused on mostly the high frequency words from various Books, with Barrons being the
core focus.
The problem with Baron was that even though it has 3500 words, the Webster dictionary
has many times more!!
So I first looked at the high frequency lists and then drilled down deeper into other lists.

They mostly ask for the correct definitions of terms. For example, you will be tested heavily on the difference between RM and BIA. You will also be tested on your understanding of the way ER works.
Business continuity is a term that describes the processes and procedures an organization puts in place to ensure that essential functions can continue during and after a disaster. Business continuity planning seeks to prevent interruption of mission-critical services, and to reestablish full functioning as swiftly and smoothly as possible.
Business Continuity is a broad topic which covers a variety of concepts over a broad time frame. First it deals with the moment before anything bad has actually happened. Through Risk Management (RM) techniques you know and anticipate your risks and threats. Through Business Impact Analysis (BIA) you know the possible damages to your business so you and your management people start to get real serious in planning for continuity. With Project Management (PM) skills you manage the creation, testing, delivery and maintenance of your continuity plan as project(s).
Much like Contingency Planning (CP), Business Continuity Planning also deals directly with the bad days through proper preparation, followed by careful implementation. In your continuity plan you have elements related to Emergency Response (ER) and Disaster Recovery (DR), which address the moment right after an emergency disaster has taken place. These topics deal with the steps that you and your people have to take to give proper response to and recover from the tragedy. And through Crisis Communication (CM) techniques you let people know exactly what and how you are doing all the way.

ExamESSENTIALS CPIM All-In-One Study Guide & Practice Questions
The Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification is essential for professionals involved in:
