Home Schooler Takes On Today’s Average College Costs

In this corner, we have today’s average college costs.

In the other corner, we have the American home schooler who just graduated from high school.

College costs really look bulked up and ready for this fight. The average cost of college in America looks tough to beat.

You are looking at tuition and fees, room and board, out-of-state fees, transportation costs, extra living expenses, and hopefully no legal fees to get bailed out of jail.

The hefty price tag for one year with this seasoned fighter is about $17,000 for the public state colleges.

The scales are really tipping over for the private universities at about $40,000 a year.

The American home schooler has a look of determination in his eyes, though. The word we have from his trainer is that he plans on employing a rather unique strategy.

On the surface folks, this doesn’t look like much of a contest.

      There’s the bell!

Today’s average college cost really comes out swinging but this home schooling lad is quick on his feet and a great counter-puncher.

ROUND 1: The home schooler got the edge by using the CLEP testing service to get 30 college credits without paying a dime in tuition and cutting costs by much more than 50%.

ROUND 2: Average college costs is getting winded as his challenger is now using the DANTES testing service in addition to CLEP to attain college credits related to his choice for a bachelor’s degree.

ROUND 3:Things are really looking bad for the university champion as this wise opponent has transferred 90 college credits to a regionally accredited online university.

ROUND 4: The home schooler is the new champion over today’s average college costs with a knock-out by finishing his senior year with on-line classes and is holding his undergraduate high for everyone to see.

The awesome thing about this match is that it is no fantasy.

This strategy is available for all, whether you home school or not.

Be a part of the college revolution by knocking out America’s average college costs.

Don’t Let The Average College Tuition Cost Stop You

Is there a legitimate way to beat the average college tuition cost these days?

That was a question my wife and I had as our son was close to completing his senior year of high school.

We did some painful research and discovered that average college costs had increased “a little” from 30 years ago when we attended college.

When I say ” a little”, I mean a little too much to believe. State college tuitions for 1 year in 1978 was around $1000 in the  South. Now, you are looking at $6000 – $8000 a year.

This is outrageous. And I am not even including room and board or miscellaneous expenses.

It gets even more unbelievable. If you look at the private universities, tuition shoots even higher to around $30,000 a year or more. Harvard University, here I come.

Our son wanted to get a bachelor’s degree in business. We didn’t know how we could possibly afford it.

We were not going to go the route of student loans either.

We found out that necessity truly brings forth inventive ideas. Maybe it was just stubbornness on our part.

Whatever it was, we were determined to find a way to make this work, and did we get the surprise of our lives.

There is actually a very simple way to slash the average college tuition cost.

You can do this by using 2 testing credit services: CLEP and DANTES.

How much can you save with this strategy?

You can easily save more than 50% from the cost of college tuition.

The great news is that today’s average college tuition cost is no longer an obstacle to your college degree.

SAMPLE PAGES

      INTRODUCTION
The reasons that prompted me to write this book are in the Afterword.
Instead of a lengthy introduction I will just say that this book is for:
 those who have only heard of such things as assets and liabilities,
 those who have not heard even that,
 students that are starting their financial education,
 those who graduated from accountancy lines at universities (I know from my own experience that freshly after studies one has little idea of something called ‘practical experience’, that comes with years of working). How much smarter would I have been at that time if somebody had given me something easy to understand and digest...
 also for businessmen to enable them to enter a magic world of accountants (if they have not done so yet). I trust it will be an easy task as this world is less complicated that it seems to be,
 for everyone who wants to learn new skills, that will pay off later.
All definitions are marked with (D!) and written in bold blue fonts for you to find them easily when you want to return to them later.
I tried to put everything the simplest possible way, without technical jargon (or explaining this jargon).
One important assumption: imagine you run a business. When I say ‘you bought/sold something’, I mean that you have done this as a business. You choose: Whether it is a one-man business or a global corporation, it does not matter. The rules are the same. (With the exception that as a one-man business you probably will not need auditors to check your statements, but you might).
If you do not understand something – do not fear. Mark the page with a yellow sticky note or jot down what you did not follow and continue reading. Return to the fragment after you have read more. It will be probably clearer a couple of pages later.
         Now, let’s rock!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I invite you into the world of accountants, funny people that count money. Everybody thinks they are boring. Let me show you, how they count the money. This is neither boring nor difficult, as you will see.
         CHAPTER I
         REASONS THAT JUSTIFY ACCOUNTANTS’ EXISTENCE
         In this chapter you will:

         - know the reasons why accountants exist,
         - learn about one of the most important thing in accounting – the double entry system,
         - understand why accounting emerged as the profession that is involved in every single business activity,
         - get to know what tools accountants use (computers and T-accounts),
         - comprehend what is the outcome of accountants’ work.
        1. Why Do We Keep Records?
First the definition of the word:

(D!) A record is information or data on a particular subject collected and preserved.
There are a couple of reasons to keep records.
First, the most important one is: TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY WE HAVE in the till and/or in the bank. Remember one of accountants’ sayings: ‘Cash is king!’ That is true. Without accounting businessmen would rely on bankers (you know how honest and reliable they are!) who send them statements every month and even sometimes charge money for that. So we keep records mostly to prove that we are not funding a free ride for bankers.
Second. HOW MUCH WEALTH WE HAVE ALREADY GATHERED. Have you ever sat and looked at what you already have? A house, a car, a cellar with old French wine, a wife/husband, children, a lover... Errr, those last three do not count, but wine does because we can express this in money terms! This is what accountants do – they measure the value of things and tell us how much we have. (This includes cash that I mentioned in reason 1).
Third. HOW MUCH MONEY PEOPLE OWE TO US. You will not believe it, but accountants treat this money as something that we have! What twisted minds they have! I will tell you about it later. For now, you must agree that it is a very important issue to know who owes us and how much.
Fourth. HOW MUCH WE OWE TO PEOPLE. This is naturally less important than the previous one as this is another person’s problem and they will remind us if we forget. But a smart thing to know is how much before they come for it. It might also be the case that we owe more than we have. In this instance we need to know it in advance to be able to escape to the other side of the world, before they get to us.
Fifth. TO KNOW HOW MUCH WE PURCHASED AND SOLD today, this month, this year. Everybody likes to count their money as it comes. Accountants are such freaks, that they even count money that is not theirs.
        Additionally:
        - if we know how much we had yesterday,
        - and we know how we spent and received today,
        - then we should easily arrive at the amount that we have in hand and/or bank at the end of today.
So we know how much money we have without counting it everyday!
By the way: this is one of the most common checks in accounting – we double check things to know whether there were any mistakes along the way. If our calculations (what we got yesterday less what we spent plus what we received today) show something different that we have in hand at the end of today, it means somebody has made a blunder. Our system was not perfect (or it sucks!). Time to look at it once again.
Sixth. TO COUNT OUR BUSINESS AND PERSONAL EXPENSES. I encourage you to adopt the following approach: every expense is a business expense, unless you can’t by any means justify that it is not. Then it is a personal expense. This gives you one major benefit: you will pay less tax. This is because business expenses are tax deductible, personal expenses are not.
But be careful and do not try to make the taxman look stupid. They’re not idiots. And more importantly: they have seen all these tricks before.
And last but not least: Seventh. TO KNOW HOW MUCH TAX WE NEED TO PAY. When you combine fifth and sixth point, you will easily know how much tax you need to pay. Keep the taxman away. Do not let him see that you do not always know what’s happening within your finances (even if this is the case!). Be prepared to justify your numbers when they ask. If they see that you are in control of the situation, they will only bother you occasionally. Or if you are lucky – they will not bother you at all.
All above reasons can be summed up in one simple sentence: accounting is a universal language of businesses – if anybody in the world runs a business, they need some accounting knowledge or they need an accountant.
Now that you know why we keep the records in business, we will take one further step.
2. How Do We Keep the Records?
2.1. Pencils vs. Computers.

Once the records were kept on paper, in the big books (hence the name bookkeeping). Every event was recorded inside this book in order to remember what happened in the past. From time to time the guru – the accountant – checked something inside and gave an opinion on how the business was going. Most people thought he was guessing, because if you opened such a book, it was like all Greek – mortals could not even try to understand it.
Nowadays, the most common way to keep the records is to keep them electronically – using computers. We use a variety of programs (accounting software) designed to satisfy the needs of everyone – from small grocery seller to big corporations. We can use off-the-shelf software. This is the most common situation for someone who starts a business. Off-the-shelf software is cheap and often very easy to use. Sometimes the taxman gives it to you for free, but in this instance it is a very basic program (nevertheless it might be enough at the beginning).
Tailor-made software (i.e. made on user demand or customised to his needs) can also be used. This costs a fortune and only fat boys can afford that.
Electronic recording is fast and easy to store and retrieved quickly (which is important when bosses or the taxman ask). But watch out! You cannot get rid of papers yet. Firstly, usually you need to keep the ‘source documents’ and you need to keep hard copies (that means printed out). Secondly, as you may have experienced many times, you can’t rely on computers. So if your hard drive crashes, you need to have something instead. And the gnomes inside computers can very often alter figures.
That makes it impossible to have a paperless office. In fact since computers were introduced, consumption of paper skyrocketed in offices. Reason? Mostly printouts – safe copies. And when you keep the printouts, you know that the gnomes cannot get to them if you lock them in the bottom drawer.
But computers won the fight with pencils a long time ago. So do not trust an accountant who would try to convince you that all these software gimmicks were created for lazy people with no skills and no brain, as the artistry of accounting does not rely on paper books anymore.
       2.2. Accounts.
The double-entry system is the core of bookkeeping and accountancy. Without the double entry system both bookkeeping and accountancy would be completely different...

TRICKS OF THE GRADE - MAKE BETTER GRADES
Professor Joe Martin reveals How to Get Better Grades in College - Improve Grades

TRICKS OF THE GRADE

College Professor Reveals the Secrets to Get Better Grades
Without Cramming or Becoming a Book Worm
Find out what other students are doing to get on the Dean's List, influence instructors, gain more free time to spend with friends, participate in campus activities, take on a part time job for extra cash, go partying without guilt and making their parents proud while loving every minute of it all.
(And now YOU can have these very secrets and apply them to any college course you take to get the highest grade possible!)

Tricks of the Grade is an eye opening, power-packed program on the realities of college (as it relates to academic achievement).   Having spoken and presented the "Tricks of the Grade" program to more than 110,000 college freshmen on 450 college campuses across the country, as well as to thousands of high school students, I finally decided to brings this award-winning program directly into the homes of anyone and everyone who wants to succeed in college.
Giving students inside secrets that other professors won't dare talk about, Tricks of the Grade will literally shock you (and your student) with its honesty, boldness, and directness.
And the methods you'll discover areanything but traditional.
Students DO NOT learn study techniques, memorization gimmicks, speed reading strategies, note taking skills, or test stress relievers; although all of these skills are useful.
However, if these strategies were really so effective, the national college graduation rate wouldn't be a dismal 53% (according to American College Testing) and 33% among minority students (according to Blacks in Higher Education).

You Don't Have To Be A Scholar or Brainiac To Get Better Grades In College
When you use the "Tricks of the Grade" system, you will know how to:
Position yourself for higher grades on the first day of class (without sitting up front) (Tricks #3, 5). Master the best kept secret to academic success (Trick #1).
Get better grades by getting others to study for you (legally) (Trick #9).
Make the college system work for you instead of against you (Trick #7).
Bend the rules in your favor without breaking them (Tricks #4, 10).
Avoid the most fatal mistakes that 95% of students make (unconsciously) (Trick #6).
Get your professors to give you better grades than you deserved (ethically) (Tricks #5, 6, 8).
Get "inside information" from your professors (Trick #5).
Ace boring courses and tame tough professors (Trick #7).
Stay motivated in spite of boring classes and boring professors (Tricks #1, 2).
And that's just a small sample of what you'll discover.

As Good As The Tricks of The Grade Is It Isn't For Every Student
This program IS NOT designed for…
students who are looking for something for nothing (i.e., no motivation)
students who can't follow simple directions (i.e., no common sense)
students who are afraid of their own shadow (i.e., no courage)
students who are being forced to go to college (i.e., no commitment)
However, the Tricks of the Grade is designed for…
students who believe they can do much better in school if they only knew how
students who are afraid that college will be too tough to for them
students who are stressing themselves out just to maintain a "good" GPA
students who obsess over their grades, but want more out of college than just a high GPA
Tricks of The Grade Is Not Some Magic Formula That Will Suddenly Transform You Into An Academic Genius.
   It's Much More Than That...
This program is designed to do the following:

   Build a student's self confidence
Improve a student's character (in and outside the classroom)
Strengthen a student's relationship with his or her professors (by becoming a model student)
Give students access to information most students don't have and/or don't know how to get
Show a student how to stand head and shoulders above all other students

Her efforts made her a tough negotiator which were shared with other personnel of the bank of varying discipline and career levels, keen to learn from her vast experience. I can say without hesitation that  the accomplisments of Angie brought a tremendous impact on our problematic loan accounts.  She is simply a gem  to the universal bank”.- Generoso R. In fact, your total investment for time tested debt collection techniques and management of bad debts are as low as $7.00 for the “Bad Debts Collection Techniques-A Simplified Version” and $17.00 for the “The Theory and Practice in Debt Collection”.

So what’s the catch? Why am I practically giving this resource away?

Well, it’s really quite simple. After working for a universal bank for twenty years and collecting billions of pesos from bad debts, I wish to share my knowledge and expertise to contribute to solutions to bad debt collection of banks and other creditor business companies.

THE GOOD GRADES GUIDE: STRATEGIES FOR UNIVERSTY SUCCESS
Discover the Secrets of Top University Students

The Good Grades Guide: Strategies for University Success

Have you ever wondered why some students do well in school while many others struggle? It’s almost as if the students who get top marks know something the others don’t, and truth be told that’s exactly how it happens.

It can be difficult to figure out how to do well on your own and that’s why we created The Good Grades Guide, an ebook that spills the beans on how to well…get good grades. You’ll learn everything from how to write great essays to how to best prepare for exams.

University doesn’t have to be a struggle…

The Good Grades Guide is a must for any student who wants to take home great marks in university, and who doesn’t want the top marks? We all know that better grades mean your chances of getting a great job increase drastically, and so do your chances of getting into the grad program of your choice. Doing well in school just makes sense.

That’s why we created The Good Grades Guide

The guide was created out of a rather personal place. The author, Justin King, wasn’t always a top student. In his first year of university his marks were…well, let’s just say they weren’t nearly as high as he wanted them to be. Despite being confident that he would do well the university system completely swept him off his feet.
By the time he finished his university career however he was on the Dean’s List and had been invited to join the prestigious Golden Key International Honor Society for academic excellence. That’s quite the turn around. How did he do it? It’s all in The Good Grades Guide which is a compilation of what Justin and other successful students do to get great marks.

Here are some of the things you’ll learn in The Good Grades Guide:

  • How to write amazing essays so you can take home the top marks.
  • The best ways to study for an exam because nothing feels better than getting an A.
  • The most important question to ask yourself when choosing a major (it’s not “How much money do I want to earn?”).
  • How to organize your time so you’re not rushing around at last minute.
  • How to market yourself and your essays.

    And much more…
In short you’ll have a ton of concrete tips, tricks, and strategies for getting good grades.
Keep in mind, The Good Grades Guide cannot automatically turn you into an A+ student. It doesn’t have all the answers, but it has a lot of them – enough to get you well on your way to great marks.

      So what’s the rundown?

  • The Good Grades Guide is not expensive. It is a very reasonable $19.95
  • The Good Grades Guide is a great resource. It covers pretty much everything that will come your way in university.
  • The Good Grades Guide is not overwhelming. We didn’t artificially inflate the page count by explaining pointless items. You’ll be able to finish it in an afternoon.
  • The Good Grades Guide is accessible now. It’s a downloadable document (.pdf) so you’ll have it up on your screen instantly.
All that is pretty great but it gets even better: if for some reason you’re not satisfied you can get a refund within 60 days of purchase. This is great because it means you don’t risk a single penny and literally have nothing to lose.
It’s certainly possible to get high marks on your own, but that can be a slow process with uncertain results. Reading The Good Grades Guide, however, means that you’ll learn exactly what your professors are looking for – and that can take your grades to the next level much faster.

The goal of this book is straightforward and simple: to make so clear an understanding of John 14-16 centered around the concept of Friends of Jesus, words from Jesus Himself, that readers accept the challenge of the potential of someday hearing  Jesus say to them personally, Friend. Of course, correlated to this is the goal to present this as a challenge sufficient to overcome the inevitable Falling Away of this generation. The message and teachings of Jesus in John 14-16 are made for troubling, fearful, and perplexing times like this generation of the Falling Away. Almost all people believe in God, Jesus would encourage all as thYey begin to accept the challenge of Friend to also believe in Him. What to believe in Him we will come to more thoroughly in chapter 5 on Who is the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible? What Jesus told the Apostles to believe in Him we begin on immediately in this book's focused look on John 14-17.
FRIENDS OF JESUS IN THIS AGE OF BIBLE AND COMPUTER, A Challenge Sufficient for the Falling Away is in the tradition of  Christian Apologetics especially of John 13-17 on which it is based--only directed to citizens of this century, in the tradition of IN HIS STEPS and YOUR GOD IS TOO SMALL, in the tradition of the little Moody Press books like by F.B. Myers, Dwight L. Moody, and R.A. Torrey, in the tradition of the late, great preacher and former President of the Southern Baptist Convention, who liscensed Jerry McMichael, the co-author with his wife, to preach and performed at Bellevue Baptist Church the wedding ceremony.  The reading of this book can change your whole Christian perspective to walk on a higher level for Christ as you accept the challenge that you may actually get called by Christ Himself "Friend" instead of simply with the group singing "What a Friend we have in Jesus".  Obviously many who claim Him as friend will not even be there on that great day of the Second Coming, immediately after the Falling Away.  You too can be an "overcomer" with a hidden name that noone else knows, a name written in heaven.

HOW TO WRITE SUCCESSFUL PHD THESIS

How to write a successful PhD thesis

How to write a successful PhD thesis within semi-hostile political environments and perhaps even as a distance learning student.

About to write a PhD thesis?
Are you concerned with academic politics?
Things advisors and thesis manuals won’t tell you?

          From: Dr. Russell Norman Murray
Once you are accepted into a PhD program, your advisors will tell you how to write the thesis. The University or College thesis manual can give you technical advice. You can read other theses from that institution in the library.
What about what the advisors won’t talk about? What if you are Jewish and working in a Christian institution or Christian working in a secular one? What political dangers do you need to be aware of?
I am Russ Murray, and I have four earned degrees including MPhil and PhD research theses only degrees. It took me twenty years to earn the four degrees, and I was an excellent student.
In this e-book I explain how politics and related problems can overextend one’s student career and how to be aware of potential problems.
I was Canadian working in the UK academic system, a conservative Christian working in a secular department, and I was a distance learning student, 5000+ miles away from my advisor (s).
I lost my first appointment, but soon found another institution just as good and eventually succeeded.
          • PhD appointments are difficult to find.
          • Good advisors are difficult to find.
          • A supportive department is essential.
          • The solutions came from experience and I can save you time and money by helping you to avoid political pitfalls.
          • Recognize a good and bad advisor.
          • Recognize a supportive or non-supportive department.
          • Get information on how to be an effective distance learning student.
So, what will this non PC information, cost you? Not hundreds. Again, your advisors, librarians etc. are paid employees of the institution you are attending or thinking of attending. They will give you the PC party line. Is not political advice from someone that has succeeded in semi-hostile environments worth hundreds?
But, of course PhD students are not wealthy. I could charge $50, but I realize text books are expensive etc, so I am asking for…
         $20 US funds
My e-book will help you take a philosophical look at writing the PhD thesis and dealing with potential programs, and avoiding them! I solved my problems through reasoning and experience, and therefore you can avoid some of my situations by reading this e-book.
