To earn the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation, you must pass a multiple choices exam administered by DRII affiliates or by Prometrics. There is only ONE EXAM; your score on the same exam determines your eligibility for certification at a variety of levels – DRII offers FOUR certs now.

These best options are often based on experience and best practices not easily found in the standard exam text books.
There are also plenty of questions on concepts and theories. These are the questions quite closely related to the published objectives of the official BOK. They mostly ask for the correct definitions of terms. For example, you will be tested heavily on the difference between RM and BIA. You will also be tested on your understanding of the way ER works.

With Project Management (PM) skills you manage the creation, testing, delivery and maintenance of your continuity plan as project(s).
Much like Contingency Planning (CP), Business Continuity Planning also deals directly with the bad days through proper preparation, followed by careful implementation. In your continuity plan you have elements related to Emergency Response (ER) and Disaster Recovery (DR), which address the moment right after an emergency disaster has taken place. These topics deal with the steps that you and your people have to take to give proper response to and recover from the tragedy. And through Crisis Communication (CM) techniques you let people know exactly what and how you are doing all the way.

Module 1 - General Pharmacy Information

Module 2 - Pharmacy Abbreviations
This module contains over 50 of the most common abbreviations (also called "sig codes"). Our program also includes Roman Numerals, many common drug abbreviations and multiple examples of full sig codes.
Module 3 - Brand & Generic Drug Name Association
This module contains over 55 of some of the most common brand name drugs and their generic names (if the generic form is available). You would not be expected to memorize all of these for your first day at work, but familiarizing yourself with them will only help you memorize them once you start working in the pharmacy.
Module 4 - Prescriber Handwriting Recognition
This module provides over 60 examples of doctor handwriting samples taken from original prescriptions for many common drugs (like the two examples at the top of this page). They are all original handwriting samples taken from many different doctors in multiple practice settings. Reading prescriber's handwriting is one of the most challenging tasks for new pharmacy technicians. By training yourself on this module, deciphering prescriptions will be much easier and less stressful. The Prescriber Handwriting Recognition Module ties together the previous exercises and you will practice reading the drug, determining the quantity, calculating the day-supply and deciphering the directions.
Basic Self-Assessment Quiz
The Self Assessment Quiz can only be accessed after purchasing our PharmacyTechnician Training & Orientation Program. This quiz is comprised of 24 questions and may be taken as many times as needed to achieve a score of at least 75%. Once a minimum score of 75% is achieved, a Certificate of Completion (pictured below) with your name is created along with a copy of your quiz transcript. What is the ASVAB?
Whether you are deciding to go into military service or still choosing a career path to take on the civilian side of the working world, the ASVAB is a useful tool that can help you make the choice. It can help you realize the type of work that will sustain your interest and match your potential, as well as open opportunities that you might not have previously thought of pursuing. It was first administered in 1968, and named the official entry test for all branches of the US military in 1976. For years, it has helped guidance counselors and recruiters evaluate students and armed services candidates and determine career paths, both civilian and military, that suit them.

ARMY ASVAB
The US Army evaluates your results against ten line score standards. They compute line scores by adding the various standard scores shown on your ASVAB scorecard.

For active service among the military the branches, the army is the only one that offers job guarantees for all its new recruits, which means even before signing contracts, the enlistees are already aware of what job they will be doing in the service.
Army Retake Policy
You may be allowed to retake the ASVAB under any of the following circumstances: the validity period of your first or previous ASVAB test has ended; your test results fall below the required scores for enlistment; or you failed to complete the ASVAB due to an unexpected incident that is not of your own fault or doing

Navy enlistees typically have guaranteed job areas, in which they can apply for specific jobs within one year after boot camp.
NAVY Retake Policy
As an applicant to the US Navy, you may be allowed to retake the ASVAB if you do not get an AFQT score that qualifies you for enlistment, or when your previous results have expired. Those enlisted under the Delayed Entry Program or DEP are commonly not eligible for a retest, unless they are enlisted in the Navy’s DEP Enrichment Program. Under this program, high school graduates who have scored between 28 and 30 in the AFQT may be DEP-enlisted, and go through training for academic enhancement. Afterwards, they will retake the ASVAB, and if they get an AFQT score of 31 or higher, they will be called on to serve in the Navy.

The medical field is growing and projections have moderate to accelerated growth over the next decade. One of the areas experiencing the fastest expansion is the medical coding and medical billing field. Proper training is vital to students wishing to pursue a career in health care administration.
A proper education in medical coding or billing enables individuals to correctly and efficiently process standardized diagnoses and procedure codes that have been performed by physicians. This process is key for medical professionals to be properly compensated for their work and to ensure proper billing to the customer. This also facilitates electronic processing and payment by insurance companies and other third party providers in a more expedient manner.
Many schools offer medical coding or billing courses and students should evaluate every program to determine which will help them land a job in the area they desire. In most cases, medical coding schools will provide in-depth curriculums covering subjects such as medical billing, medical coding, medical terminology, medical insurance, chart analysis, health management, medical law, HIPIAA Compliance matters, pharmacology, human anatomy, and preparatory courses for medical coding certification.
Medical coding certification is a separate process completed after graduation and offers many different credentials offered mainly though two agencies, American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC®) and American Health Information Association (AHIMA®).
The AAPC® offers three main certifications, CPC, CPC-H, and CPC-P. These are the most common certifications and the certifications sought after by employers. They also offer other specialty certifications plus Continuing Education Units (CEU's) required to keep a coders certifications current.
AHIMA® offers many certifications with the most common are Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and CCS-P. These certifications are based more around medical records and health information. Most AHIMA® certification require more schooling or experience prior to taking the exams.
Gaining your credentials increases your salary and offers the employer proof of your expertise.
The Medical Coding Exam is 5 hours forty minutes and consists of 150 questions separated into three sections. Each section focuses on a different area of coding and you must pass all sections with a score of 70% or better.
There are many medical coding exam preparation tools available to help you prepare for this exam including practice exams and exam strategies to get you ready for certification.
Graduates of a medical coding education program and who have gained their certification may earn $38k to $43k annually depending on certification, experience, location and employer. The AAPC published a salary survey in 2008 which highlights the different salary ranges and the qualifications likely needed to secure a job within that range. |
